A set built during the materials shortages of World War 2. The Government initiated a plan for a receiver simple reciever of a single standard design in 1943, the design itself being undertaken by Dr. G. D. Reynolds of Murphy Radio Ltd. During the War there was a dire shortage of new receivers so despite the basic nature of this set it was eagerly snapped up by the public with over 175,000 of the mains sets being sold in the first year. Both the price and conditions of supply were rigidly set by the Wireless Receiving Sets (Control of Supply) order, which had come in to operation of the 1st July 1944. This specifically applied to the Civilian Receiver and the order was not revoked until July 1947, so presumably the sets were still in production at that time ?Since the L.W. broadcasts were suspended during the war this set has only the medium wave. The scale is very simple with a simple scale in meters plus markings for the "Home" and "Forces" stations - no foreign stations here ! After the war, various enterprising companies did offer a modification to add L.W., though fortunately this set has escaped such hacking. However the set continued to be produced after the war with manufacturer-added L.W. waveband. This example was aquired many years ago for our WW2 display and is in non working order, howere we did ask a vintage radio repairer who said this could easily be put back into service. A great talking peice!

Great Phone Holder
Style: Holder+Dash+Vent+Windshield
I bought the version with the suction cup mount and I’m very happy with it. It holds my phone securely in place and doesn’t move around while driving. It’s also very easy to place the phone in the holder and remove it when needed. The suction cup sticks well to the dashboard, and you can position it so the phone stays in a safe, easy-to-see spot while driving. Overall, a great and reliable phone mount. Highly recommend!

Secure Fit, great hold
Very solid fit, doesn't wobble or shift positions while driving even on very bumpy roads. Magnet is very strong and sturdy, once phone is in position it's not going anywhere unless you remove it. Great product especially for the price.

exactly what i needed
I wanted to add to my original review 6 months ago This little mount has stayed on my Model X for 6 months now and it works GREAT! Very sturdy and the magnet locks on immediately every time I drive. it's handy on the top left of my screen for a WAZE map to be alerted for those issues on the road whenever I'm on a long drive. I'm really happy with it and I bought another one for my coworker's birthday. Uploading another video. I would highly recommend. ------- This mount for my Tesla is exactly what i needed for my road trip. I really don't need it to wireless charge as cable are faster anyway. Pros: - Very easy to install. doesn't test my IQ with all the unnecessary instructions. - NO NEED for 3M stickie adhesive on my car. I just simply don't want this in my car! Bad experience in the past and I'll return anything that needs to uses a 3M adhesive. - Very strong magnet grip. Bought it right before my 10 hour road trip, no issues at all. - connects to the top 2 angles on my model X, I will likely buy another mount for the passenger seat. It will also work with the bottom angle when I tilt the screen out. - And it seem to be able to bypass the Tesla cabin camera during AP/FSD. Down sides: - it would be great if it can also charge- however i would not want a cable dangling to the 12v port./ - price is a bit on the high side

Falls regularly
It works for a bit but falls from my screen on a very regular basis no matter how tight I tighten it or what position the phone is in. The magnet it strong, but the mount itself doesn’t hold on to the screen where it’s supposed to.
