Lee Wiley was a jazz and big band singer whose career began in the sophisticated orchestral era of the early '30s and encompassed swing and small band work through the '30s and early '40s before hooking up with Eddie Condon's band in mid-decade, and going on to make some highly regarded albums in the '50s. She was at once both distinctive and versatile, her smoky contralto voice enabling her to range across moody small group blues and after-hours material, swinging up-tempo big band arrangements, and lush easy listening recordings alike. This great-value 70-track 3-CD collection, selects chronologically from recordings made in the core quarter-century or so of her career, beginning with work with the orchestras of Leo Reisman, Victor Young and Paul Whiteman in the early '30s. It includes titles from her highly-successful series of songwriter-based sessions for Liberty Music Shop and Schirmer with Max Kaminsky, Joe Bushkin, Eddie Condon, and Paul Weston at the turn of the decade, as well as 'live' radio recordings with Condon's groups through the '40s, also selecting tracks from her excellent albums "Night In Manhattan", "West Of The Moon" and "A Touch Of The Blues" albums during the 1950s. She was a hugely talented performer who deserves much greater recognition than she has been generally accorded, and we hope this anthology will provide a showcase which will bring her to a much wider audience.

Excellent little grinder
For the price, this thing is a great value. I wanted to use it a bit before writing a review, because anything can be amazing initially. I have been using it for several weeks now and let me just say that for the price, you get a great little grinder. This thing isn't meant to grind up bags and bags of coffee, but for grinding a nice little bit for a few days at a time, it's perfect. It's easy to set the grind level / coarseness, and it "stays" where you put it. I have not had any issues and it seems pretty durable. I saw some complaints of it being slow, but maybe they just expected electric speeds with a manual grinder? Not sure, but for me I am able to grind a full reservoir (the container of this item) in less than a minute and a half, at best. I got this because sometimes I am lazy and didn't use the electric grinder the night before and I don't want to wake up the wife grinding my coffee, so this is PERFECT. The only thing is, now I don't use my electric grinder anymore.. The reason for that is I get more consistent ground coffee using this little guy than my electric grinder ever has. So now I am stuck in manual mode, and for cheap! This thing is super light and easy to store away, not bulky and won't get in your way. So if you are hesitant because you saw some bad reviews, just do what I did.. buy it anyway and find out for yourself. I have learned that most negative reviews on Amazon are because people expect things to be more than they are or to somehow function beyond their capabilities... This thing does what it's supposed to do, and it does it well. So buy one now, you won't regret it!

Gets it done.
At this price point it is a excellent grinder for coffee. It does adjust for different grinds but there is no scale to gauge, just clockwise or counter clockwise. Recommended if you are not sure if you want one.
