Based on Native American beliefs and lore, Coyote and Encounters with Owl brings Native American culture to the forefront of children’s storytelling. A story for children of all ages, this short tale is created for Native American children, for representation in children’s literature, but also for children of all nationalities to learn more about Native American culture and storytelling.

About the Author

Patricia June Moore worked for the Central Consolidated School District in Northwest New Mexico for forty years as a substitute teacher and educational assistant. Coyote and Encounters with Owl was originally written for students in a Navajo history class, incorporating Native American legends into a short story writing assignment for students.
