A stunning example of an iridescent ammonite fossil of the species Psiloceras planorbis from North Somerset, UK.

The piece of limestone matrix measures 214 mm (8.4 inches) across and contains a large single ammonite, which measures 78 mm (3.1 inches) across. This is about as big as this species gets.

The ammonite is very well preserved and has been prepared out of the rock to reveal the shell, which displays some stunning iridescent colours that change depending on the angle that the fossil is viewed at with a nice red sheen. There are flashes of red, green, gold, and copper. The fossil weighs 1048 grams and has a cut flat base to allow it to stand freely for display.

This is a beautiful and unique display fossil.

Around 200 million years old (Hettangian, Early Jurassic), this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection. These fossils are preserved in the same way as the more famous Canadian "ammolite", which is turned into valuable gemstones due to the stunning iridescence.

Great upgrade for a rental apartment mattress

Soft and Comfortable Topper
I got this bamboo mattress topper for a small single bed we keep in our guest room, but I ended up testing it out myself first.
