Six Questions Your ZAGG Franchise Business Plan Must Answer

We developed this franchise unit business plan in Microsoft Word using our own independent research into the mobile accessory and device protection market. All six chapters are pre-populated with data specific to opening and operating a retail electronics store, including a financial model projecting $640,000 in first-year revenue and a two-year payback period. The entire document is fully editable, allowing you to adapt the plan to your specific location and investment strategy.

Question 1: What is the core business case for this franchise unit?

The business case is to establish a premium mobile accessory franchise in a high-traffic retail location, targeting tech-savvy professionals and corporate clients with expert installation services and high-quality device protection products. The model focuses on an immersive retail experience that online competitors cannot replicate, driving sales through both direct retail and B2B fleet contracts.

Key Highlights

  • Prime retail location in a high-income, tech-focused corridor.
  • Value proposition centered on immediate, expert on-site service.
  • Financial model projects strong growth, reaching $1.45M in revenue by Year 5.
[dynamic_pic9]

Question 2: What does this mobile accessory franchise sell?

The unit sells a curated selection of premium, brand-name mobile accessories, including screen protectors, power solutions, and protective cases. A key revenue driver is the on-site expert installation service, which provides a tangible value-add and a reason for customers to visit the physical store. The franchise business model for tech accessories also includes B2B packages for corporate clients.

Core Offerings

  • Retail Product Sales: Screen protectors, power banks, cases, and keyboards.
  • Installation Services: Expert, on-site application of screen protection.
  • B2B Fleet Packages: Customized device protection solutions for local businesses.
[dynamic_pic10]

Question 3: Who are the target customers and what is the local demand?

The primary customers are tech-savvy professionals, high-end device owners shopping in the area, and local technology firms seeking protection for their employee device fleets. Demand is driven by the high concentration of corporate headquarters and affluent consumers who value premium products and immediate, expert service to protect expensive personal and professional devices.

Target Customer Segments

  • Tech Professionals: Individuals needing immediate protection for essential work devices.
  • Local Technology Firms: B2B clients requiring bulk protection packages.
  • High-End Shoppers: Consumers seeking premium accessories and services.
[dynamic_pic11]

Question 4: How will the franchise unit acquire and retain customers?

Customer acquisition is driven by the prime physical storefront in a high-traffic retail center, supplemented by a direct B2B sales effort targeting local firms. Retention is built into the operational plan for a high-traffic retail location through a warranty loyalty strategy, positioning the store as the go-to hub for product replacements, which creates opportunities for repeat visits and upsells.

Customer Acquisition Strategy

  • High-Traffic Storefront: Captures immediate retail demand from foot traffic.
  • B2B Sales Outreach: Directly targets local companies with fleet protection needs.
  • Warranty Hub Program: Drives repeat customer visits for hassle-free replacements.
[dynamic_pic12]

Question 5: Who will run the unit and what is the staffing plan?

The unit will be led by a full-time Store Manager responsible for daily operations, sales performance, and staff management. The core team includes a Lead Technician, two Installation Technicians, and 1.5 full-time equivalent Sales Associates. This structure ensures expert service delivery and sufficient sales coverage during peak retail hours, which is one of the best practices for managing a retail franchise unit.

Initial Staffing Structure

  • Store Manager (1.0 FTE): Oversees all unit operations and performance.
  • Lead Technician (1.0 FTE): Manages technical services and staff training.
  • Installation Technicians (2.0 FTEs): Provide expert on-site installation services.
[dynamic_pic13]

Question 6: How much capital is needed and what is the franchise unit profitability?

The initial investment is estimated at $135,000, which covers the franchise fee, leasehold improvements, equipment, and initial inventory. The financial plan projects first-year revenue of $640,000 and EBITDA of $180,000. The unit is forecast to reach its breakeven point within four months of opening and achieve full payback of the initial investment in just two years, which defintely shows strong franchise unit profitability.

Key Financial Metrics

  • Year 1 EBITDA: $180,000.
  • Months to Breakeven: 4 months.
  • Years to Payback: 2 years.

State of the Art Book!
This book was recommended to me by my graduate school professor as being the most up-to-date, most inclusive book on trauma therapy that exists today, and that it is! First, it is written in an organized and coherent manner. It is extraordinarily well written and engaging which is amazing for a text of this type. It contains information on just about every subject that a beginning trauma therapist as well as a well-seasoned therapist would want to know! This is an incredible book and my only criticism is that, knowing how much I shall be referring to it, it is only a paperback and I wish it were a hardcover so that it will withstand the test of time in better condition. The price is extraordinarily reasonable when one considers the cost of most textbooks these days. I highly, highly recommend this book as a MUST read for every trauma therapist, or trauma therapist in training. I cannot say enough excellent things about the Briere and Scott text. Buy it. You will not regret it for a moment! In addition, after purchasing the DSM-V, I can say that although this book was written before the DSM-V came out, it dovetails with it extremely well, and is a perfect book to purchase after getting the new DSM-V if you don't already have Principles of Trauma Therapy. It is for anyone who is a mandated reporter also, as I am. Presently, I'm a doctoral candidate in Special Education, and find that this book will be helpful there as well. As a person who has worked directly in Special Education for over 11 years, and have had professional contact with Special Needs children for over thirty years, this book is a must--for anyone who works with children, teens, (or adults who have just disclosed trauma) whether you are in Psychology or Special Education, or any allied field that makes you a mandated reporter. The book is a MUST HAVE.

Excellent book for students trying to grasp PTSD
As a professor teaching post traumatic stress reaction to graduate and undergraduate students, I was looking for a book that hit the basics along with some key pieces regarding assessment, diagnostic criteria, and examples that highlighted some of the subtleties associated with complex trauma. This book is well organized and not too overwhelming for people new and beginning the field and a nice refresher for seasoned clinicians. Easy to read, clearly outlined to build upon each subject, I found it both a solid read, affordable, and made it a required read for my course. Please note that I purchased this book way back October 12, 2013 but only now getting to put my thoughts in writing.

Great interventions and Trauma Theory
Format: Paperback
This a great book if you work with victims of trauma and want to understand how different types of trauma can present and what interventions can be used (i.e urge surfing, cognitive restructuring, focus breathing, etc.). It also include a section about medications and what to address first in treatment. I think it’s great for new clinicians who may be looking for interventions to add to their clinical toolbox.
