Conceived as Gerald
Murnane's last work of fiction, Border
Districts was written after the author moved from Melbourne to a small town
on the western edge of the Wimmera plains, near the border with South
Australia. The narrator of this fiction has made a similar move, from a capital
city to a remote town in the border country, where he intends to spend the last
years of his life. It is a time for exploring the enduring elements of his
experience, as these exist in his mind, images whose persistence is assured,
but whose significance needs to be rediscovered. Readers of Murnane's earlier
work will recognise some of these images: the dark-haired young woman at a
window; the ancestral house set in grasslands; coloured glass, marbles,
goldfish, the outfits of jockeys. Murnane's images often draw their power from
the light that falls upon them from a distant or mysterious source. But he also
considers the possibility that the mind casts its own light, imbuing the images
in the observer's mind with the colours of his soul.

narrator declares, 'the mind is a place best viewed from borderlands'. In this

NO WARRANTY EVEN IF YOU PAY EXTRA FOR IT.
Beware
I purchased a casement window air conditioner AND the asurion 3 year warranty extension for the unit. The air conditioner was faulty from day one in that the temperature control did NOT control temperature and the compressor would not stay on unless the unit was set at the minimum 62 F setting. I called the manufacturer/distributor of the air conditioner and they informed me that there was NO WARRANTY on the unit because it was sold by a third party. The unit was only warranted if it was purchased directly from the distributor themselves.
I then checked with the extended warranty company *asurion" and was told they would not warrantly the product until after 12 months subsequent from purchase.
I highly suggest that anyone concerned with receiving a working product from Amazon should take care to investigate thoroughly before placing an order.
I contacted Amazon and they will replace or refund these items however I see no choice but to get a refund. Replacement with a non-warrantied product seems like something even a very foolish person would not consider.
Asurion's policy on not honoring it's extended warranty until 12 months after purchase is also hmmmmm unusual and makes their warranty products a questionable purchase.

Prompt service

ASURION 4-Year Housewares Plan - An Excellent ROI
The ASURION 4 Year housewares protection plan was definitely one of the best investments that I've made to date. I had a large, 12,000 BTU portable air conditioner that stopped working properly in its third year of use--one year after the manufacturer's warranty had expired--essentially leaving me with a glorified hot air fan. I proceeded to file a claim on my ASURION 4 Year housewares protection plan. The process could not have been easier and did not require much documentation since the plan was already linked to my prior purchase of the AC off Amazon.
I received an Amazon gift card within minutes of filing the claim, thereby definitively demonstrating ASURION's broad coverage scope, reliability, and overall value.
As such, I used part of the gift card to purchase another four-year plan on a replacement AC unit that's now sitting in my office. Hopefully, I will not need to use it, but it's good to know that I have coverage if needed.
