The Small Cedar Log Arbor is a freestanding garden arch built from 100% Northern White Cedar — a structural garden feature that frames paths, marks garden entrances, supports climbing plants, and creates vertical presence in any yard or garden layout. The small size is ideal for compact garden settings, pathway entrances, and accent placements.
Built with mortise and tenon joinery at the structural connections and galvanized exterior hardware throughout — the same construction standard as all Lakeland Mills cedar log furniture.
Why Northern White Cedar
An arbor lives entirely in outdoor conditions: soil at the base, rain, humidity, full sun, and temperature changes every season. Chinese fir, used in most imported garden arches at comparable prices, isn't rot-resistant and degrades in 1 to 3 years — posts soften at ground level, joints loosen, and the structure becomes a maintenance problem before climbing plants have had a full season to establish. Northern White Cedar lasts 10 to 20 years in exactly those conditions, naturally, without chemical treatment.
Placement & Use
Set it at the entrance to a garden bed, over a compact path, or as a standalone accent. Use as a support structure for climbing plants — roses, clematis, wisteria, and vining annuals all take naturally to cedar log uprights. Left untreated, the cedar weathers gradually to silver-grey. Accepts any outdoor-rated stain or sealant to maintain the original color.

About Log Checking
Small surface cracks (checks) naturally appear as the wood dries. This is a normal characteristic of solid log construction and does not affect structural integrity.
